Spotlight on: Homeworks

Homeworks is a City of Edinburgh Council service which provides practical advice, information and financial help to assist homeowners in Edinburgh to repair and maintain their homes. Many homeowners can face real difficulties in tackling the repair and maintenance of their homes. Homeworks can provide:

  • Basic advice and information to any homeowner in the city on a range of home repair and maintenance issues
  • Information on approved trade bodies and specialist agencies
  • Financial help, through advice and, in some cases, loans.

Homeworks can provide general advice and information to homeowners on:

  • Organising repairs and maintenance to homes
  • Managing common repairs
  • Paying for building repairs and maintenance
  • Improving energy efficiency in homes
  • Replacement of lead plumbing supply pipes
