EHAP at Sheriff Court 'Doors Open' Day

Saturday 27 September 2014 is 'Doors Open' Day again in Edinburgh - giving the public a unique opportunity to visit some of the City's iconic buildings and get unprecedented access to all those nooks and corners that are usually hidden from view.

One of the most popular venues each year is Edinburgh Sheriff Court, with a range of activiites and tours provided to help demystify the Justice system.  See mock trials; visit the cells; take a guided tour - there's lots to do!.  It's also a beautiful building!

The various services which operate alongside the Scottish Court Service will also be on display - providing information about what they do and the ways in which they support access to, and delivery of, Justice.

The EHAP Service will once again be one of the exhibitors on the Day, so if you are visiting the Court why not pop by and say 'hello'.

EHAP Housing Advisers can be found at the Court most days, providing a range of homelessness prevention and housing options advice to residents of Edinburgh and Midlothian. We are also present at the 'Rent' and 'Mortgage' Courts each Friday, providing advice and lay representation services to people facing eviction or repossession because of arrears.

Our Advisers also operate in the Prisons, working with those sent from the Court, to try to avoid them becoming homeless while in prison on remand or during shorter sentences.

Want to find out more?  Come and see us on Saturday!

We also operate from venues across Edinburgh so if you need advice on any housing related issue you can contact us at any time on 0845 302 4607, or through the 'Contact Us' section of this website.
